MetaRadio supports the default XML format from WideOrbit, so all you need to do it setup an Event Driver to save this as a XML file whenever a new song starts playing. WideOrbit support is via the Now Playing Event Driver XML File output. It simply needs a TCP connection to port 34289 on your Rivendell machine, and you’re good to go. Rivendell support is via the new PyPAD feature. The big new feature is support for two new systems – Rivendell 3 & WideOrbit Radio Automation. No recurring fees! This results in a cheaper product overall for our users, and easier budgeting. The WordPress plugin is now sold as a once-off purchase, along with a Standalone license.

Kate - PM me as I'd like to discuss AlienVault as a possibility on my network.I’m very excited to release to the world the latest version of MetaRadio – v1.2.0. Thanks for mentioning AlienVault for network security :) I will Add to it if I can think of anything. I will be recommending and pushing this into all environments I work in from here on out.
Some of this software I wasn't able to Purchase during my time in Radio but I have it now and Love it.
it works on block level changes so it won't backup the entire file just because you added 1 line to a word document. Large Files don't Backup Fast so normal files work best.
For Radio it's a Great DR Plan for offsite Backup Storage. I put it on 3 Servers for under $800 Annually I think. Seriously I am pushing Terabytes of data and it is stored incrementally forever all the different versions of each file. Incrementally Backs everything up to the cloud 24/7 no storage limits. You will literally forget about any storage problems you have ever had.Ĭode42 - Best Low Cost Cloud Backup. Tintri Storage - Best High Performance Central Storage on the planet. WebRoot - Fast Light Weight AV that wont slow down Production Machines Varonis - For your File Servers ( Audit and track work loads, bottlenecks, and important files and data and other great uses, Really starting to like DatAnywhere) Some other Great Software I found during my Radio DaysĭiskKeeper - Best Defrag on the planet and keeps music coming off the drives cleanly.ĭrobo - Best Hardware Storage for running Backups to (Really Liking my B1200i)ĪlienVault - Best for Security of the Network SpiceWorks was invaluable during that time to get a central Trouble Ticketing system up and running then using it to maintain my inventory and get tech support. The ability to track and follow up is incredible. My productivity has increased and the two way communication has increased which they are very happy about. As our user are concerned it is a God Send. As the IT I love it! It is almost perfect in every way. But I still highly Recommend Spice Works.
Your Automation System may not like talking to Spice Works. This is just an FYI to anyone who works in a Radio Station. I have added this server to the Networks Scanning Exception list and that has resolved the problem. We discovered this problem in the Logs of the Central Server and used Sysinternals Netstat software to track which machine was doing it. Although the network traffic was never disrupted the machines Software was. This threw the Local Servers (Each Radio Station) into Island mode where it will not get music changes or new commercial changes. It was causing Exception Error in the Central Server Program (Written in Java and works on port 80) This cause a lot of grief since the Central Server was hanging up trying to talk with Spiceworks about 3 times a second and was not able to communicate with the Local Server. I discovered after long hours with Tech Support that Spiceworks was attempting to Scan the Automation Server.
